Joy to the world....!!

  Hello friends...

Being that it's coming up to the festive season I thought it was time to get some of my Christmas tags prepared so today's post features a set of co-ordinating tags using the Carol kitten set from Gerda Steiner designs!!

To create these tags I started with a red cardstock base that I stamped with a plaid background and then die cut using the bookmark die from Create a Smile stamps...

I then heat embossed some sentiments from Carol kitten set on black cardstock with WOW! Embossing opaque bright white powder then fussy cut them before adhering to the tags with foam tape!!

The kitten images were coloured using alcohol markers and then fussy cut...
One kitten for each tag along with some twine and the tags are ready for gifts!!

I hope you enjoy these tags and they get you inspired to make some too...
Happy crafting, hugs Ashlee

WOW! Embossing with stencils....!!

 Hey crafty friends....

I have a new card to share with you today by using one of the fabulous new stencils Pipeline designed by Kate and embossing it with a new powder Tarnished teal from the Alchemy trio inspired by Seth Apter!!

I love using my stencils to heat emboss, its such a fun way of getting gorgeous backgrounds done with embossing powder and so easy too....

To do the embossing I started with a blue card base and prepped it a little with an anti static tool just to catch any extra that might stick...

I then put the pipeline stencil in place and held it there with a bit of memo tape so it wouldn't move while I ink over it with WOW! ultra slow dry ink. I use a foam blending tool to ink over stencils.  Once completely inked remove the stencil and add Tarnished teal embossing powder, tip off the excess and then heat with WOW! dual heat tool!!

Using my Hooray sentiment stamp set I heat embossed two sentiments using opaque bright white on black cardstock, I love using this technique for sentiments. I fussy cut the main part of the sentiment and then added the sub part on a strip!!

To finish there card off I added a touch of sequins that I attached with micro glue dots, these are such a fab way of attaching sequins and getting them to adhere well...

I hope you enjoy this new card and feel inspired to get embossing with your stencils!!

Happy embossing, hugs Ashlee

I appreciate you....!!

 Hey crafty friends...

I had a few moments of crafty play time and I just recently got my hands on a bunch of goodies from Simon Hurley Create so I couldn't wait to try them out. I've been eyeing off the gorgeous Lunar pastes for awhile so I'm happy I was finally able to get some of those....

First thing I did was try them with a stencil and a blending tool. Simon shared this technique in one of his videos and I thought it was a great way of using paste but not having a thick coverage of it!!

You just place the stencil down on your chosen cardstock and then die a foam blending tool into the lunar paste and rub it over the stencil. This gives a thing sparkly coverage and its just gorgeous, especially on black cardstock....

This card uses the Slipper when wet Lunar paste....

The flowers are from the Lovely lantanas stamp set also from SHC. I stamped the flower and then inked it up with the solid stamp that coordinates to fill in the image!! I added a little bit of sparkle to the centres of the flowers too....

To finish the card off I added a WOW! gold rich pale embossed sentiment and a touch of sequins because you can never have too much sparkle!!

I had so much fun playing around with all these goodies, looking forward to creating some more with them....

Happy crafting, hugs Ashlee

Another year wiser....!!

Hey friends...

I've got some more inspiration for you using the Wiser stamp set from the latest release at Catherine Pooler "Winter wonders"!!

I made a white background for this one by starting with a white card base cut from the notecard layers die and then adding the Under my wing cover plate die cut over the top....

I then added a couple of embossed Sprigs for my owl to sit on....

The Owl was done by swiping inks directly onto a piece of CPD premium smooth Cardstock and then stamping the image over the top before die cutting with the co-ordinating die!!

I finished it off by adding a fussy cut sentiment and some sequins...

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my latest notecard, if I haven't told you already I am really loving making cards this size...

Happy crafting, hugs Ashlee

WOW! Pearl Christmas tags....!!

 Hey friends...

I have a couple of Christmas tags to share with you to get into the Christmas spirit!!

You can never have too many gift tags prepared for all those Christmas presents so I thought it would be fun to make a couple using two different coloured WOW! Pearl embossing powders.....

To create these tags I started with some Kraft coloured card stock and die cut two of the largest size scallop frame dies by CPD...

I then prepped them with a little static pad just to make sure I would get an absolute clean embossed image on my tags!

Using my WOW! ultra slow drying embossing ink pad I stamped the Candy cane background stamp over both the die cut pieces then one I embossed with Red pearl and the other I embossed with Green pearl....

The pearl powders can be embossed on white or black cardstock so for the sentiment I heat embossed the shadow layer of the Merry Christmas word die using the same pearl powders but this time on black cardstock...

I then embossed a panel of WOW! superior smooth cardstock with Red glitz before embossing the Merry Christmas word twice (one for each shadow layer). The fine die cut words were adhered to the shadow layer using some Bearly arts glue with a super fine tip, perfect for sticking down thin pieces!!

The sentiments I adhered to the tag base using foam tape to give them a bit of dimension...

A couple of holes punched in the top and a bit of red ribbon finished them off and there we have a couple of shiny tags ready to jazz up the presents!!

I hope I've inspired you to create some WOW! embossed tags this Christmas...
You can also find a reel for how I made these over on my insta page if you would like to check it out @ashbie1412

Wiser inspiration....!!

 Hey crafty friends....

It's time for some more inspiration using the brand new upcoming release Winter wonders available soon at Catherine Pooler Designs!!

Today is early ordering for StampNation members and then the collection will be open for general ordering on the 10th...

I've made a couple of cards using the Wiser stamp and co-ordinating die sets so lets go check them out...

To create this first card I started by creating a bunch of white cardstock strips (cut from CPD premium smooth cardstock) which I coloured by swiping CPD inks over them....

Ink colours used are - Flame, Glitz, Martini and Uptown

The strips were then attached on an angle of a white card base where I also stamped a sentiment from the Wiser set "The best is yet to come"...

To do the owl image I started with a piece of the CPD cardstock and swiped all the four ink colours next to each other. Then I stamped the owl over the top of the swiped ink and die cut it using the co-ordinating die before adding it to the card base over the coloured strips using foam tape to add in some dimension.

Of course I finished it off with a touch of CPD sequins!!

Onto the next card....

To create this one I started with a white card base and then using the Under my wing cover plate I die cut it from a scrap piece of card so I could use it as a stencil...

Using a CPD blending brush I added colour through my stencil using Dress blues ink, once removed it left a fun patterned base....

Splatters were added by using a bit of Midnight ink mixed with a little water and a brush!!

I stamped the larger owl directly onto the base and then added the smaller own by stamping him on white cardstock, die cutting and adhering using foam tape so it pops up from the other one...

A sentiment and some CPD sequins completed this one!!

I hope these two cards have you inspired to get crafty and if you decide to do some shopping on release day happy shopping, hugs Ashlee

Winter wonders collection is coming at CPD....!!

 Hey friends...

It's time for another release at Catherine Pooler Designs and this new collection is called Winter wonders, it is full of fabulous new crafty goodies!!

I have a card to share today sneak peeking the gorgeous new set Wiser, if you love owls you are going to adore this one....

This is a notecard size card and I made it using the die set Notecard layers from CPD...
It's such a fun size card to make. I die cut the base with the largest notecard layer die from a piece of pattern paper from the Woodsy pattern paper pack....

I then die cut the Sprig die from a piece of cardstock that I embossed with the CPD inspired WOW! glitz powder three times. Then also die cut the sprig die from a piece of white foam also three times so that I could glue the foam pieces behind the embossed ones to give them more dimension!! I arranged them in a circle to create a wreath and then popped the beautiful owl from the Wiser stamp set (stamped with CPD ink Over coffee and Icing on the cake) in the middle....

A sentiment embossed using WOW! gold pearl and some sequins from the Omaha mix finished the card off!!

You will be able to get your hands on this new collection November 9th for Stampnation members and November 10th for general public ordering....

Happy crafting, hugs Ashlee
